Fantasy Football Week 13 WR Rankings: Mario Manningham, Chris Givens, Josh Gordon, Emmanuel Sanders, Jarius Wright and Pierre Garcon

By Rich Cordaway

In our Week 13 WR rankings, I discuss and rank Mario Manningham, Chris Givens, Josh Gordon, Emmanuel Sanders, Jarius Wright and Pierre Garçon.

6) Emmanuel Sanders, PIT

Sanders has had a good little run with all the injuries hitting his team’s offense.  Over the last 3 weeks, he’s been targeted between 6-8 times each game.  This week he’s been named “co-starter” (whatever that means?) with the underachieving Mike Wallace.  While this seems like a ploy by Tomlin to extrinsically motivate Wallace, it still gives Sanders a good chance to show his value.  But Antonio Brown is likely back this week, so that will limit Sanders’ targets.  With the emergence of some quality, young receivers across the league the past few weeks, I’d consider Sanders a “sit” this week against the Ravens.

Fantasy Football Week 13 Top Picks: Colin Kaepernick, Pierre Garcon, Mario Manningham, Davone Bess, Jermaine Gresham, Charles Clay and Bryce Brown

Mario Manningham, WR, SF

When Manningham signed with San Fran, he thought he moved up the depth chart from his previous spot as the 3rd option in the Giants’ passing game. What he quickly found out was being Alex Smith’s second option was no great shakes.  I’d bet he’d like a ‘do over’ on that decision.  Now in Week 12, he had Kaepernick target him five times.  Mario caught all five passes thrown his way and netted 65 yards.  This was his highest number of targets and catches since Week 6.  With Kaepernick under center, you’ll most likely see a shift to a more passing-friendly offense as Alex Smith is more game manager than gunslinger.  I’d scoop Manningham up.  He’s young, experienced, and has good hands.  He had double-digit points in PPR leagues from Week 4 through Week 7, and should now be a solid flex option with hopes of being a #2WR with Kaepernick starting.

Fantasy Football 2012 Black Friday Door Busters: Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree, Cam Newton, Steve Smith, Eli Manning and Hakeem Nicks

By Mike Scala

Black Friday kicks off the holiday shopping season every year. Although, I think the origin of Black Friday is lost on the masses, this was the day in the year when retailers actually used to go from being unprofitable to profitable for the year. My….how things have changed over the decades.  Next, we have Cyber Monday….and I’m waiting for On-Line Auction Tuesday…for all those people that missed out on the hot gift and must now comb the web and pay double….don’t those long lines look appealing now???

This year Black Friday started Thursday…..on Thanksgiving! In fantasy football, Black Friday is also a point were the contenders start gearing up for the playoffs and those on the bubble either make a move to sneak in, or are left in the dust. Many fantasy owners are in “start or sit” dilemmas every week. That’s why we post our picks weekly on those players most fantasy owners are wrestling with to start or sit. Thursday’s games yielded an explosion of offense and I’m betting that this continues into the Sunday and Monday games.  Let’s quickly recap Thursdays QB &WR tandems that broke out and project a few to watch the rest of Week 12:

How to Make that Fantasy Football Championship Title Run

By Rich Cordaway

Fantasy football is a game of right now.

Last week is meaningless and so is next week actually.

Fielding the best lineup for the upcoming week is all most fantasy owners think about.

That kind of short-sighted thinking works for the regular season.

But you’ve also got to have a plan for the playoffs.

One that shows you’re serious about winning the whole damn thing.
