Austin Pettis, WR, STL

Pettis had 11 catches for 97 yards and 1 TD in Week 2 for the Rams. The Rams offense is one I’m watching this year as Bradford may finally have enough weapons to move the ball down the field and ultimately put it in the end zone. The Rams seem to be playing fast, with Richardson a small-ish scat back with speed, Givens on one end and I thought Tavon Austin in the slot. But as we know, rookie WR’s take time to get acclimated to the NFL game. Pettis played well in Week 2, coming out of the slot for most of the game, and he’s in the magical year 3 for wide receivers where it all seems to come together. I think the Rams have a bit of lightning in the bottle with Pettis and he really starts to develop this year.

Last week’s Pick- Joique Bell, RB, DET- 31 rushing yards, 5 receptions for 41 yards

Fantasy Football Week 14 Top Picks: Brandon Myers, Brandon Weeden, James Starks, Josh Gordon, Golden Tate and Chris Givens

Josh Gordon, WR, CLE

I’ve been watching Gordon in my CBS leagues through the scout team function for some time now. I like the young Browns team, especially with Richardson featured as the all-purpose back. Cleveland has no one else to catch the ball but Gordon, and Weeden isn’t a bad young QB. Although he did explode for his finest game this season against the Raiders, Gordon was easily a starting option in Weeks 5 and 6 before Week 13. He was also a good flex option more recently on Weeks 11 and 12 leading up to his big game Sunday. He’s a good receiver to own long-term in a dynasty format.  I’d even start him in the playoffs.

Rich’s Rankings:

5) Jonathan Stewart, CAR

Stewart’s stats this year are what I remember when I drafted and owned him a few years ago: 30-50 yards with no TD’s just about every game.  Hell, even when he did score a TD, he still usually had single digit fantasy points!?!  And, yes, he’s still splitting carries with DeAngelo Williams which negates both of their values.  This week he plays against Tampa Bay, who he historically plays well against.  But I wouldn’t give him that opportunity.  Stewart’s a “sit” this week.
